You guys, I pulled my neck so amazingly, that I have literally been in this awkward stiff state, and deep in this pain that could not be touched by any amount of extra strength Tylenol. I mean, the amount that I have stuffed into my face since Saturday, is down right alarming.
How did I pull my neck? Good question.
I practiced ballet cold, showing someone something that I am really good at, well, good at after I have been at the barre for an hour, sweaty, and ambitious.
Then, thanks to the Miracle Morning I decided that I should get up and RUN.
Run.
I have not run in over two years, why in the actual fuck did I think that I was going to accomplish?
Surprisingly, I was able to get into a rhythm quickly, proving that the year of ballet and lyrical has helped my cardiovascular capability. (Translation: I typically do not get winded walking up stairs anymore)
After returning home from said run, I sneezed.
Did you read that right? I sneezed and it fucked up my whole world.
Since Saturday I have been in the neck pain world, where you are incapable of speaking about anything else..and you KNOW that talking about it and thinking about it gives it more power and it becomes even more painful, and even though you know you should just shut up, you can't, because, well, you are in "neck pain world."
I dragged my sorry ass to my favorite chiropractor, totally throwing caution to the wind, and just not checking my blind spot, cause, well, no.
After two visits to the chiropractor, 1 visit to the medicine giving doctor, 2 muscle relaxers and 1 pain killer later...I felt "kinda better".
I returned to class last night, taking my place in between the 15 year old and the 12 year old, both who are off the barre and doing turns en pointe.
I hated that I could not give it 100% -my personality is one to beat myself up for not getting something right the first time.
I was able to come off the barre and do echappes. This was my first time coming off the barre and it was slightly terrifying..and I spent the entire night frustrated that I did not do it perfectly. So dumb right?
